Welcome. This is the private practice webpage for Amy Taylor, PhD.  I am a licensed clinical psychologist and certified psychoanalyst practicing in Berkshire County, Massachusetts.

I work with individuals, couples, and families. I follow a developmental approach and work with my patients around where they have become stuck in their lives and in their relationships. My treatments are highly individualized based on what my patients wish to work on, and what we negotiate together as treatment goals.

I have experience working with a diverse range of people confronting issues such as major life transitions, experiences of adversity and trauma, and cultural adjustment.  Some of the problems I have helped people with include:

  • lack of motivation
  • persistent anxiety
  • anger issues
  • obsessional thinking
  • hopelessness
  • self-injury
  • suicidal thoughts
  • sexual difficulties
  • relationship conflicts
  • grief and loss
  • relationship breakup and divorce
  • parenting struggles
  • struggles with food and/ or body image
  • problematic substance use
  • social anxiety
  • trouble with job/ academic performance
  • “failure to launch” and separation issues
  • creative blocks

I often work with people on issues related to identity and the body, which includes gender and sexual identity.  I have experience practicing psychotherapy with people who have intellectual disabilities and cognitive disorders, and I welcome IDD patients.

In addition to psychotherapy, I am available for supervision, professional case consultation, and test-based personality and cognitive assessment following a collaborative model.

I do not accept insurance, but you may be able to use your out-of-network benefits for treatment, and I will provide necessary paperwork.
